Who We Are
Terry K. Welsh, President of ASHA, Inc has successfully prevented workplace accidents and illnesses since 1984. He has helped hundreds of Michigan employers stop losses and liabilities and keep their workplaces and personnel safe and healthy. Terry has trained thousands of people in CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Respiratory Protection, Machine Safety, Fire Safety, Construction Safety, health hazards including Asbestos, Lead, Chromium, Silica, Combustible Dust and many MIOSHA, OSHA, DOT & DEQ compliance regulated topics. He does on-site inspections of hazards, recommends corrections and monitors or manages implementation and ongoing performance. He also represents clients to abate, settle and contest MIOSHA citations and reduce fines.
Terry has also custom-written hundreds of Workplace Safety & Health Management programs and procedures and does program implementation, training and management. He developed a unique customizable system for designing and supporting effective Integrated Safety & Health Mangement Systems (ISHMS) which are comprehensive for MIOSHA regulations (not just OSHA), yet easy to use and update with changes in workplace operations, personnel and regulations year after year. These ISHMS can be designed to coordinate with Quality and Production management systems and procedures and boost their performance as well as improving safety, health and wellness.
Terry has a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and performed post-graduate laboratory research involving physical and biological chemistry. He also earned various safety and health training and instructor certificates from OSHA, MIOSHA, EPA, American Red Cross, National Safety Council, American Safety & Health Institute, and Emergency Medical Planning Associates. Terry also served as a non-denominational teaching minister since 1974. Terry has been married to his wife, Janice since 1977; they have 3 adult children, Tina, Danielle and Anthony. Janice is a specialist in nutrition and health who leads ASHA in providing Workplace Wellness consulting and training services.
